Uncle Shinbone
From straight-ahead college alt-pop, to hard-hitting, heavily loaded rock-and-roll, this band went through some very significant changes in the years that it gigged and recorded in and around SLO. Although it never managed to break out of the Central Coast, it made it's impact with two albums. The first, Sunny Day's Rain helped propel them through the SLO music scene, playing bard, frat houses and parties alike. The second album, Slohemia helps to brand the idea of what happens to bands that don't make it out of SLO. Very hard-hitting and original, this album was produced posthumously in 2000 in an attempt to bring closure to an open wound.
